If the blood of goats and bulls could atone for the sins of man and appease a righteous God and the blood of Christ could equally do no more for his elect against the second death, the argument reeks of blasphemy. Personally, the intensity of the painting suggests an incensed God tearing off the veil. Its like ‘enough is enough! away with the blood of bulls, your religious ordinances and all!
