No doubt, its comfortably easier to turn a blind eye at the whole issue, laugh it off and be continually fleeced ‘til the blissful idiot crosses this threshold of life. Personally, the intensity of the painting suggests an incensed God tearing off the veil. Its like ‘enough is enough! away with the blood of bulls, your religious ordinances and all! The beloved King David - the one after God’s own heart - committed adultery and murder in his hey day whilst subjected to the unflinching Law of Moses. If that law, with its gamut of sin, judgment and condemnation on the transgressor, made an inequitable exception for the king and later for his successor King Solomon who became polytheistic, is it not the sole sovereign grace of YHVH that preserves the sinning souls of his anointed ones unless one concludes that the law has unquestionably condemned these men to their irrevocable fate in the bowels of hell or perhaps, if otherwise, they had repented at the eleventh hour?

If that law with all its precepts and what not had somehow bended for the king and later for his successor King Solomon who became polytheistic, was there not the sole grace of YHVH alone at work to preserve the faith of his anointed ones and their sinning souls unless one concludes that the law has already condemned these men to their irrevocable fate in the bowels of hell or perhaps otherwise if they repented at the eleventh hour?

Salvation that assures one’s eternal security is solely of the Lord, by the Lord and for the Lord. His integrity, His blessed assurance will keep me in eternal security; otherwise how can I when, by myself, am contrary to His impeccable standard in thought, word and action willingly and unwillingly and constantly falling short as a child of God, a brother, a father and a husband. Even as I speak, as I breathe, as I type, have I not offended someone somewhere and is there not unforgiveness in me? Almost certainly!

Can we single out unrepented sins like adultery and murder as damnable yet pass over the misdemeanors we commit every moment without a tweak of the conscience - ‘being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; [they are] whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.’ (Rom 1:29-32)

‘Who then can be saved?’ But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Mat 19:25,26. This is not an excuse for sin nor a cop-out for consecrating one’s self but a due recognition of the true source and strength of our salvation. With the bizarre revivals of 312 Azuza Street in 1906, the Kundalini spirit is a relatively ‘new kid on the block’ that came to town in the 1960’s with the Maharishis (and now ‘channeling’ via the likes of the Johnsons, the Joyners, the Bentleys, the Crowders, et al). EXTREME OPPOSITES: there’s the orthodox fundamentalist that ensures the saint be nothing but a repentant worthless sinner and there’s the ultra-charismatic that has elevated the unglorified saint to deity as ‘little gods.’ At any given time, never an unglorified saint gives a perfect glimpse of Christ, of this I am sure. ·

Totally depraved man without a desire for God and inclined only to evil is thus in enmity with Him (Gen 6.5). When this truth is faced squarely, limited atonement makes sense: that YHVH must supply His prevenient grace to soften the heart of the elect in order to believe and receive Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Only the ‘redeemed of the LORD’ - the ‘set apart ones’ that was predestined for salvation before the foundations of the world - could receive this Divinely-inspired gift of grace to believe. Salvation then is of the LORD and by the LORD and for the LORD alone.

And the seemingly saintly view that suggests the possibility of ‘the redeemed’ being condemned to an irrevocable hellish fate because of backslidings, or impenitent sins or an inconsistent Christian conduct and character not only leaves much to be desired as Darwinism, but it blasphemously invalidates the perfect and thorough redemptive work of Christ Jesus in the preservation of the saint via justification and imputed righteousness. ~ L.J

The heresy plaguing the modern church of the 21st century. What is it and where did it come from? The system of doctrine known as Arminianism is heresy. It is an offshoot from Pelagianism and Semi-Pelagianism. It has been adversely affecting the church and its doctrine for over 250 years. Men like Finney and Wesley, being the charismatic personalities they were, propagated the doctrine and resurrected the Pelagian error from the pit of hell once again to persecute the church of Christ. Today’s Arminians are not necessarily the same caliber as those of old. Historic Arminianism is altogether heretical. ~ Dr. C. Matthew McMahon, Calvinism and Arminianism.

So where did this deviant teaching come from? It was spawned by a 16th century gentleman named James Harmensen, born in 1560. This was his Dutch derivation, but is more well-known by his Latinized name – James Arminius. Thus, this is where “Arminianism” was birthed as a succession of an older heresy which was called Pelagianism. In other words, Arminianism was a form of Pelagianism that was not as extreme as Pelagianism, but more subtly destructive. Pelagianism denied the fall of Adam as affecting men in any way. Arminianism did not go to that extreme, but did say men were not completely dead in sin. In both views, though, men work for their salvation by coming, of their own accord, to Christ, on their own strength, and they “decide” to follow Jesus. Grace is good, and grace is helpful, but it is man that actually makes the difference. The reader may be directed to Arminius’ work published by Baker Book House in a three volume set which will demonstrate and convey the sense of all that this short article represents on his theology and thoughts about “god.” ~ Dr. C.
